The Book
Paolo Padoan is the author of the book « Rosanna Carteri, il fascino di una voce » published by Marsilio Editori in 2013.
In this biography he retraces all the stages of Rosanna Carteri’s life, accurately describing her dazzling career from her first concert at the age of 13 to her decision to leave the stage at the height of her success at only 36 to devote herself to her family.
Armando Torno writes in his preface: « Voices that have honoured music never end in the eternal silence of the past. Sooner or later they return. It is not easy to understand why, but it is certain that after enchanting listeners, they flow into an unknown dimension. And then one day they reappear….If Rosanna Carteri had not decided to retire from the stage to devote herself to her family, she would have become a myth. But perhaps her choice was more real, or as they say, human, very human. »
In 2013, the book was presented at the Théâtre Princesse Grace in Monte-Carlo, where Rosanna Carteri lived with her husband Franco Grosoli and their children Marina and Francesco; and later also at the Teatro la Fenice in Venice, the Ridotto of the Teatro Regio in Parma and the Museo del Duomo in Milan.
