The Wedding

The wedding between Rosanna Carteri and Franco Grosoli was celebrated on the 10th of October 1959 by the Bishop of Verona, Monsignor Giuseppe Carraro, in the Basilica of San Zeno.

The bride entered the church accompanied by her father Ugo, applauded by a large crowd of fellow citizens. Her beautiful French lace gown was sewn by the Beltratti tailors.

The bride’s witnesses were the superintendent of La Scala Theatre, Dr. Ghiringhelli and Cavaliere del Lavoro Rossi; the groom’s witnesses were Eng. Bisazza and Dr Romanin Jacur.

The event banquet took place at the Due Torri Hotel in Verona.
After cutting the wedding cake, the newlyweds left for their honeymoon on the Côte d’Azur: first stop, the Hôtel de Paris in Monte-Carlo.

In this same hotel, 50 years later, on the 10th of October 2009, Franco and Rosanna celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary surrounded by their children, grandchildren and friends.
